Lipscomb University is honored to present Pauline Kung Bjorem, pianist, in the Faculty & Friends Concert Series at 8 p.m., Nov. 3, in Lipscomb’s Ward Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
Bjorem has performed solo recitals throughout England, including performances on the BBC and at Wigmore Hall, London, in Wales, Malaysia and the United States. She has performed numerous chamber music works with strings, woodwinds, voice, chorus and with two pianos.
Bjorem is currently piano division director and assistant professor of piano at Abilene Christian University, in Abilene, Texas. She received a master of music in piano performance from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, and a doctorate in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Oregon. She was also the first Malaysian to be accepted at the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music in Surrey, England.
Bjorem has held teaching positions at Dallas Baptist University, the University of Oregon, Northwest Christian College and Eugene Bible College. She also serves as the principal pianist for the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra.
